I Can Not Access Wordpress Blogs

For the last few weeks, I fail to access Wordpress blogs. The message I get: 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage'; it's only with Wordpress that I have this problem. I have tried to fix it, but it doesn't work.

Several of my favorite blogs that I do regularly read, are Wordpress ones. Wordpress doesn't seem to have any problems with their servers; or are they having problems? Incidentally too, it's just a few weeks ago that I switched to Internet Explorer 7 - could that be the cause?

Does any one know what the problem could be? Any tips?

i think it has to do with internet explorer 7: i also switched to it last week, and have problems (in my case with feeds that do not work)

Anonymous - thank you for this. So much for the so much praised IE 7! I hope IE allows one to switch back to IE 6.

Try Firefox. Once you go Fox you never go back.

Roba - I have tried both Firefox and Opera about a year ago, but still turned back to IE. May be it's time to switch again. Thanks.

I was gonna suggest firefox too...i normally switch between both of them, not sure which I prefer still.

Maliha - salam! Great to hear from you after such a long time. Due to lack of access, I haven't been reading your posts for weeks; I have really missed that.

I will try Firefox and see what happens - hopefully I succeed and can then read your great posts!

I have tried Firefox but still can not access Wordpress blogs. The problem could be with Wordpress itself - maybe the server used for Yemen is down and has taken long to fix.

I am back to IE 7. Will keep Firefox and alternate.

Keep trying with Firefox - it is the best by a long way. Wordpress blogs work for me.

I have tried Firefox several times, it doesn't help. I believe there's some thing wrong with the Internet server I am using; for some reason, it's blocking Wordpress blogs.

Salam,

It might be that your proxy server blocks blogger pages (Yemennet proxy server is hard to predict sometimes), you can use an anonymous web browser (i.e. can blind-up your proxy server and open any website) to open those blocked pages, like Torpark (Download page - Manual); it might help.

Mazen!!! Geat to see your comment here. I often meet Marwan and your dad but haven't seen you and your brother for long.

My problem is not with IE 7 but with the LAN settings that I regularly use; for some reason it doesn't allow me to access Wordpress. I am now in an Internet cafe, and it is easy reaching Wordpress.

And I wouldn't think it's about LAN settings, but, well, my last guess is to try accessing WordPress through its IP address: 207.7.108.232
