A full moon is the phase when we see the Moon, fully and completely illuminated from the Earth. It is this, what we, like billions of other people around the world, see in
Hadhramout - the Moon is: whole, shining and brilliant on the fifteenth day of Ramadhan. This full moon happens when the Moon is on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun; when the ecliptic longitudes of the Sun and Moon differ by 180 degrees - which makes the hemisphere of the Moon that is facing the Earth appear completely illuminated from the Earth.
The Moon revolves and orbits around the Earth, and performs with such superb precision that - not a single mistake or hitch ever happens. No error or impediment has ever happened. Why?

The Moon's, like all that's in the universe and galaxies, performs superbly, wonderfully and in an amazingly most disciplined manner because of only one reason: there is a very powerful force that commands, regulates and disciplines all this. The Creator. God. Allah. He and only He can do this.

We Muslims fast during Ramadhan as commanded by God. We perform and celebrate Ramadan and do all we can to show our reverence of God; and - during Ramadan, more than in any other month - we worship and glorify Him: the Only, the One, the Supreme and the Almighty God. "
O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint,-" ~
Surat Al-Baqarah - 2:183. We begin fasting when we sight the new Moon. And we close the month of Ramadan by sighting the new Moon. "
Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful." ~
Surat Al-Baqarah - 2:185

In less than two weeks time, a new Moon will rise. It will be the end of Ramadhan for this year (
1434 AH). The people of Hadhramaut, like all Muslims around the world - will celebrate the end of this holiest of months. By celebrating Eid.
