Congratulations Muhammad Farah!

Muhammad Farah
Amazing! Probably the greatest night in the history of British athletics. And probably the greatest day in British sport. The British will never forget this night. An Olympics night of gold. Gold for Britain, from the most unlikely events. It will not be the holding of the Olympics 2012 that the London games will be most remembered for; nor will it be for the dazzling opening ceremony. London 2012 will be most unforgettable because of a 29 year old man, born in Mogadishu and who went to Britain at age eight. A man, who against all odds is the newest 10,000 meters Olympic Champion: Muhammad Farah, other wise known as Mohamed Farah.

With the 80,000 cheering, roaring, ecstatic home crowd boosting him on, Farah became the first Briton; and the first Somalia born, to win an Olympic gold medal in a long distant race. No Briton has won an Olympic distance event since Emil Voigt's gold in 1908. Farah, out outmaneuvered, outsmarted and out-sprinted the best and the finest distant runners in the world. And he won! Far away from Somalia, but still at home. “To win the Olympic Games in my home city is beyond words. This is my home, this is where I grew up,” he said. Congratulations Muhammad Farah!
