Of Men, Marriage and Happiness.......
The Founder of Islam said that the greatest gift and blessing for a man is having a good and virtuous wife; and that, a man's heaven here on Earth, is living in a home with such a wife. In turn, where a husband is happy, the wife will also be happy. The Noble Qur'an states: "And among His signs is that He created mates for you from yourselves that you may find comfort and repose in them, and He put between you love and compassion; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect.” Surat Ar-Rūm ~ 30:21.
How true: there is very rarely a man who is happy and at peace, without a woman, usually the wife, being the main reason for that. As the saying goes, further: behind every successful man, there is a woman. And what other greater success or achievement can a man have than being happy and at peace. At the same time, no woman can make a man happy and at peace, if the man does not reciprocate goodness and virtuousness in kind. The "love" and "compassion" mentioned in Verse 30:21 has to be mutual. "They (wives) are garments for you, while you are garments for them." ~ The Noble Qur'an ~ Surat Al'Baqarah ~ 2:187. It is not only the wife who has to fulfill her obligations and responsibilities, the man has, too.
I may point out, too: behind every successful, happy woman, there most likely is a man. The difference is that - people especially women/wives - would very rarely mention that. Men, by nature are magnanimous; and are in the habit of openly showing appreciation of, and praising, their wives. Men are very much affected by conditions at home; when conditions at home are good and comforting - it would always show on a man. Women are the basis and foundation of the Home. The Home, which is the one place, the 'island', that a man always returns to for comfort and mental peace. And it is the woman, not the man, who is in charge of the Home; who most creates and builds; and effects conditions and the environment at Home.
