Those visiting Dar Al Hajar in Wadi Dhahr, usually miss the other attractions around the big Rock House. The valley in which Dar Al Hajar stands on, has other attractions: many old villages with old buildings; and scenic, picturesque surroundings.

At the base of the Dar - are many visitors who come in taxis, buses or their personal cars from far and near. Many are tourists from nearby and distant countries.

The rock on which the Dar stands on, the trees and the building - all seem very old. Some of the trees around, are said to be hundreds of years old.

Qat is the main commodity on sale near the Dar. There is also roasted fresh, maize on sale.

On top of the seven storeyed Dar, the scenery, all around, is pleasant and wonderful.

Around the Dar, are many birds, trees and other old buildings. Its commanding position at the center of the valley, makes it very easy to have a 360 degree view of the scenery and landscape all around when at the roof.

Due to it being very fertile and its secure, protective location with mountains all around, Wadi Dhahr (Dhahr Valley) has been inhabited for thousands of years. Today, the valley has several small villages with many walled orchards of trees, fruits and qat.
