The Man!

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”~ Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela - in his 1994 inaugural speech.

Very, very few of those who have so far won the Nobel Peace Price - rightly won it and deserve it as this Great, humble Man. A man who is so full of pride. A man who is so highly regarded and venerated, and yet is the epitome of humility. Of all the World leaders and prominent people; only he, Madiba, continues to shine most. He shines even more with age and time. Inspite of all the suffering and pain he went through, Mr. Mandela has shown the world and all humanity - that: love, mercy, forgiveness and reconciliation - are the only way forward. The only positive and constructive way forward!

I simply adore him! Five years ago, I had the opportunity to meet and greet a this great man! It was freezing cold and my daughter was less than a year old. I still waited for almost an hour just to catch a glimpse of him. And to our amazement, he came to us and shook our hands and touched my daughter's hand, how nice! sf :)
As salaam alaikum.

What a giant of a man. Jazakallah khair for reminding me.

Wa salaama,
nuh ibn
