Of The Name and Islam and Naming

Islam commands us, to call others by their correct names and by what is pleasing to them; not to be derogatory or insulting. It would mean the same rule would apply when spelling and writing names of others. Many times, a name is wrongly spelt because that is how that name is pronounced by the writer or that's how it is commonly spelt or that's how the bearer of the name would like the name spelt. But, there are names, very few names, that are wrongly spelt or intentionally mis-spelt with sinister or malicious motives behind it.

Excellent Gmail gets even better

Wave seems to be a failure; the Buzz was not that good of an idea; Orkut is boring - now it is rumored that Google is in talks with several makers of popular online games as it seeks to develop a broader social-networking service that could compete with Facebook. But it is with Gmail, that Google's ingenuity and creativity is superb; and now it has become even better with its latest addition: the Priority Inbox.

"All cruelty springs from weakness"

A quote from Lucius Annaeus Seneca: All cruelty springs from weakness. Weakness of the perpetrator. Weakness in character; weakness in personality; and weakness in mind. There have been cases of foreign workers, especially women, being mistreated in the Arabian Peninsular, especially in the Gulf countries. Some of these mistreatment have been too shocking; the most recent, that of a 50 year-old Sri Lankan maid - has been horrendous and lurid:
