Site Of Note: The Cordoba Movement

The Cordoba Movement. Based in New York, USA - this is an organization that, depending on you are, is both loved and contemned; respected and loathed.

Love it or hate it, there is no denying that the Cordoba Movement is a rare kind of a group of people. A group of people, who are dedicated to improving understanding and building trust among people of all cultures and faith traditions. These are the people behind that very controversial project: the planned building of a mosque in Manhattan, New York: the Park51 Mosque. The man at the head and center of this group, and also its founder is Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf; a man, who a few months ago - was unknown to most of us; but due to his views and that very controversial project, he is now a celebrated and highly esteemed figure around the world; due to the same project too, he has become one of the most hated and assailed figures in America. Who Will Be TIME's 2010 Person of the Year?. I doubt if it will be Imam Feisal; but, there is no doubt that he and his project - The Cordoba Movement, will continue making waves and causing ripples for a long time to come.
