One of Hadhramout's most prominent and distinguished figure: Dr. Faraj Bin Ghanim - has passed away:
Former Prime Minister, Dr. Faraj Ben Ghanim, died on Sunday in Geneva. He was 65 years old. Ben Ghanim was admitted to a Swiss hospital about one week before his death, because he was having unspecified health problems. Ben Ghanim was born on December 1, 1937 in al-Shehr city in Hadhramout governorate. He studied secondary school in al-Shehr village, and at a primary school in Sudan. He received a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Khartoum University in 1964, and a Master’s degree from the Central School of Planning and Statistics in Warsaw, Poland in 1975.
Very few Hadhrami leaders commanded the kind of respect and admiration as Dr. Bin Ghanim did, here in Hadhramout. Bin Ghanim had a kind of dignity and integrity, that very few - if any - could and can match. May God rest his soul in Peace.
